The American College of Clinical Pharmacology® is a warm and welcoming society with a strong focus on supporting the career development of young colleagues. As a scientific community of integrity and transparency, ACCP offers support and opportunities to interact, learn and progress in your scientific career and to promote clinical pharmacology in research, drug development and patient care. The intimate nature of the society and the ability to network and interact with distinguished colleagues at all levels and therapeutic areas to exchange ideas and challenge your perspective provides the opportunity to learn and grow in your career. From Students & Trainees to Early-stage Professionals and established professional colleagues, ACCP offers the tools and support you need - when you need them - to achieve professional success.

At ACCP, Students, Trainees & Early-stage Professionals (ESPs) are defined as follows:

  • Students & Trainees (undergrad, graduate, postdoctoral) are considered Student Members.
  • Early-stage Professionals are considered full Members.
    • Industry/Regulatory Track (pharmaceutical industry, consulting, or regulatory agency) - First 10 years post-training
    • Academic Research Track (university, research institute, government research/regulatory organization) - First 10 years post-training or until tenure, whichever comes first

 

As a Student Member or ESP in ACCP, there are many ways to get involved and make use of Member Benefits to achieve professional goals.

  • Sharpen your professional skills by attending high-quality Live, On Demand and text-based educational events, many of which are free to ACCP Members. The largest event each year is the ACCP Annual Meeting that includes discounted registration rates for all ACCP Members, a competitive and vibrant Abstract Awards Program and Student, Trainee & Early-stage Professional-focused events.
  • Volunteer to participate in a Committee and enhance your professional growth with the guidance of senior colleagues to help you find ways to participate and contribute.
    • The Student, Trainee & Early-stage Professional (STEP) Committee includes Students, Trainees and ESPs 1-3 years in their first full-time position.
    • The Early-stage Professionals Committee includes ESPs 4-10 years into their full-time career.
  • Build your professional network by participating in committees, networking events, the ACCP Annual Meeting or other educational events.
  • Request a Mentor for career and professional guidance.
  • Use the ACCP365 Mobile App to stay connected with colleagues and get 24/7/365 access to all things ACCP any place, any time.
  • Take advantage of a series of educational resources, including the Pharmacometrics web-based learning resource brought to ACCP by the Univ of Maryland Ctr for Translational Medicine that offers a beginner's guide to pharmacometric theory, modeling and application.
