R is a language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. R provides a wide variety of statistical (linear and nonlinear modelling, classical statistical tests, time-series analysis, classification, clustering, ...) and graphical techniques, and is highly extensible.R is available as Free Software under the terms of the Free Software Foundation's GNU General Public License in source code form. This section explains the procedure to develop a population PK model for the problem given in case study - I.

We have assumed the following things before any user uses this section:

o R can be downloaded for free from http://www.r-project.org/

o The user has some familiarity with R.

Modeling process

o The project plan is to develop a population PK model for the drug and explore the covariate relationship.

o Initial preliminary data analysis has been performed and rough initial estimates are obtained
