ACCP accepts encore Poster presentations; however, encore presentation submissions are not eligible for Abstract Awards.

2022 Top Eight Student Abstract Award Winners

Student & Trainee Abstract Awards
Student & Trainee Abstract Awards will be given to the top eight Abstracts submitted by a Student or Trainee, as judged by a team of reviewers. The eight Award winners will be presented with a trophy, a $1,000 honorarium, a complimentary 3-day registration to attend the Annual Meeting and up to $500 reimbursable travel expenses. Student & Trainee Abstract Awards are announced during the Saturday evening event held prior to the Annual Meeting and are also acknowledged during the Lunch & Awards Session.

Early-stage Professional Abstract Awards
Early-stage Professional Abstract Awards will be given to the top two Abstracts submitted by an Early-stage Professional, as judged by a team of reviewers. The two Award winners will be presented with a trophy, a $1,000 honorarium, a complimentary 3-day registration to attend the Annual Meeting and up to $500 reimbursable travel expenses. Early-stage Professional Abstract Awards are announced and presented during the Saturday evening event held prior to the Annual Meeting and are also acknowledged during the Lunch & Awards Session on Monday.

Student & Trainee Abstract Travel Grant Awards
ACCP is pleased to announce that it will award up to $500 of travel support for the top 9-16 scoring Students & Trainee Abstracts, as judged by a team of reviewers. These travel awards are contingent upon the Student presenting the Poster and do not apply if someone other than the Student presents.


Student, Trainee & Early-stage Professional Abstract Developing Country Travel Grants
ACCP will provide up to $3,000 in travel support for top scoring Abstracts submitted from authors from a developing country. One top scoring Student & Trainee (including postdoctoral fellows) and one top scoring Early-stage Professional (first 10 years post-training or until tenure of academia, whichever comes first) travel grant will be offered, as judged by a team of reviewers. The top scoring Abstract authors will be notified and required to apply for the travel grant. The recipient must be the primary author of the Abstract and live in a developing country categorized as low income or lower middle income by the World Bank. These travel grants are contingent upon the primary author presenting the Poster and do not apply if someone other than the recipient presents.

New Member Abstract Award

The New Member Abstract Award is given for the best Poster presented by a New Member of the society. Posters presented by New Members will be judged by a team of reviewers and the Award winner will be announced and presented with a trophy and a $500 honorarium during the Lunch & Awards Session on Monday. At the time the Award is presented, the author will be asked to give a short talk outlining the summary of the findings of the study.

Wayne A. Colburn Memorial Award
The Wayne A. Colburn Memorial Award honors the memory of the late Wayne A. Colburn, former ACCP President at the time of his passing on February 2, 2003.

The Wayne A. Colburn Memorial Award will be given for the best Poster presented among the eight Student & Trainee Award winners, as judged by a team of reviewers. The winner of the Wayne A. Colburn Memorial Award will receive a trophy and a $500 honorarium during the Lunch & Awards Session on Monday. At the time the Award is presented, the author will be asked to give a short talk outlining the findings of the study.

ACCP/ISoP SIG Student Abstract Award
ACCP is sponsoring the ACCP/ISoP Special Interest Group (SIG) Student Abstract Award. The SIG identifies areas of submission that are consistent with its focus and Student & Trainee Abstracts within those areas are reviewed and scored by SIG Leadership. The top scoring Abstract is the recipient of the ACCP/ISoP Student Abstract Award and will receive complimentary 3-day registration to attend the ACCP Annual Meeting, a $500 honorarium and a trophy The Award will be announced and presented during the Saturday evening event held prior to the Annual Meeting. The winner will also be acknowledged during the Lunch & Awards Session on Monday and asked to present a short talk outlining the findings of the study during the SIG Event on Monday.

ACCP/ISoP SIG Student Abstract Award Winner

The Elliot S. Vesell Award
In memory of Dr. Elliot S. Vesell, long-time Fellow, former President & Honorary Regent of ACCP, an Award is given to the top Student & Trainee Abstract in the area of pharmacogenomics. The winner will receive a trophy and a $500 honorarium, a complimentary 3-day registration to attend the Annual Meeting and up to $500 reimbursable travel expenses. The Award is announced and presented during the Saturday evening event held prior to the Annual Meeting and is also acknowledged during the Lunch & Awards Session on Monday.
