Editor-in-Chief, The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology
The American College of Clinical Pharmacology® (ACCP) seeks qualified applicants for the position of Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology (JCP). The due date for applications is April 28, 2023.
The JCP is one of two official publications of the ACCP. It is one of the premier international peer-reviewed journals for the field of clinical pharmacology. For more than 50 years, clinical pharmacologists, clinical and pharmaceutical researchers, drug development specialists, physicians, pharmacists, and other medical professionals have relied on the JCP for peer-reviewed articles that span the breadth of research and drug development to clinical care and include original research, educational series and editorials.
The JCP is published online only by Wiley Periodicals Inc, a subsidiary of John Wiley & Sons Inc (Publisher).
Roles and Responsibilities
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the selection and management of all editorial content for the JCP. Together with the ACCP Publications Committee, the Editor-in-Chief will implement the strategic vision for the JCP. While working with the Publisher, Editorial Board and Editorial Support Team, the Editor-in-Chief will seek to assure objective and timely review of all manuscripts submitted for publication by reviewers with demonstrated expertise in the subject addressed in each manuscript and make the final selection for publication in the JCP in an efficient and timely manner. The Editor-in-Chief is also responsible for promoting the JCP to individual, academic, industry and government audiences, with the goal of continually enhancing the reputation of the JCP and assuring that the vision for the JCP is consistent with the Mission and Vision, as well as the strategic goals of the ACCP. Finally, the Editor-in-Chief shall work to assure the scientific integrity of the JCP and seek to enhance the reputation of the JCP in the scientific and clinical communities.
This position shall be for a term of five years.
Compensation
A quarterly stipend will be provided to the Editor-in-Chief for the provision of services. The stipend will be commensurate with the experience of the Editor-in-Chief and the anticipated annual (cumulative) workload for the JCP. Reimbursement for all travel expenses to attend the ACCP Annual Meeting will be provided in accordance with ACCP expense reimbursement policies.
