ACCP Leadership Development Program Requirements

 

Persons interested in applying are asked to commit to the following requirements:

  • Applications must be submitted in full by September 30, 2023
  • Selections to the program will be made by October 31, 2023
  • Participants must commit to a six-month program from January to July/August of 2024
  • In January, a one-day program will be delivered through two virtual sessions

 

Over the six-month program, participants will be expected to:

  • Complete an intense eLearning system, including videos, written lessons and worksheets on Leadership Development at a self-driven pace
  • Participate in approximately one group session per month of one hour in length that strengthens individual professional development and aligns the participants’ approach to establish high performance consistent with ACCP’s organizational goals
  • Participate in approximately one individual session per month of one hour in length designed to strengthen leadership skills and tap into hidden capacity for achievement and enhance leadership skills
  • Participate in a one-day group program delivered live or through two virtual sessions where participants will conduct presentations for ACCP Leadership on lessons learned and progress made
  • Participants are asked to provide feedback on the program in surveys and/or interviews
  • Participants are asked to attend the 2023 ACCP Annual Meeting, where they will be recognized for completing the program

 

Applications

Selection for this program will be limited and will include Mid-level Professionals, Early-stage Professionals and Students/Trainees. Please see definitions of career stages below.

All applicants should submit a CV and a one-page letter that must include a description of their engagement with the society as well as how they plan to give back to ACCP in return for the society investing in their participation in the program. Qualifying characteristics and additional requirements for application include the following:

 

Student/Trainee:

  • Must be an ACCP Student Member in good standing
  • Must have completed the first two years of a PhD, PharmD, or MD program or the first year of a postdoc appointment
  • Letter of Recommendation of support from advisor/PI/supervisor
  • Must be in good standing academically
  • Required to have attended an ACCP Annual Meeting and demonstrate active engagement in the society

 

Early-stage Professional:

  • Must be within 1-10 years of receiving a terminal professional degree or completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship
  • Must be an ACCP Member in good standing
  • Demonstrate active engagement in ACCP

 

Mid-level Professional:

  • 10 – 15 years into full-time career
  • Must be an ACCP Fellow in good standing
  • Demonstrate active engagement in ACCP

Selection process

Applications will be reviewed and potential participants will be nominated by the ACCP Working Group on Leadership Development and approved by the ACCP Board of Regents. Participants will be enrolled for a six-month term, from January - July/August.
