ACCP "Excellence in Achievement" 

The ACCP "Excellence in Achievement" Program serves to acknowledge ACCP Members whose engagement with ACCP events/committees and contributions to the organization are deserving of recognition.

The ACCP “Excellence in Achievement” Program is pleased to recognize Karthik Venkatakrishnan, PhD, FCP.

 

Dr. Venkatakrishnan joined ACCP in 2013 and has served on the Credentials Committee, the Working Group on Fellow Requirements and is an active contributor on the Public Policy Committee. He has published numerous manuscripts in ACCP journals, serves on the Editorial Board of The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology in Drug Development and is also an ACCP New Member Ambassador. He encourages membership in the society through the Member-Get-a-Member Program, plus has submitted educational Proposals and nominations for the ACCP Recognition Awards Program. He is a regular attendee of the ACCP Annual Meeting, where he has participated as a Faculty Speaker, Poster presenter and STEP & ESP Panelist. In 2023, he presented a webinar to young colleagues sharing his wisdom on career resilience and tools to thrive through challenges. 


Karthik Venkatakrishnan is Vice President and Global Head of Quantitative Pharmacology at EMD Serono Research and Development Inst Inc, Billerica, MA. In this role, he is accountable for leadership of Clinical Pharmacology, Translational Modeling & Simulation and Pharmacometrics in support of global R&D in the therapeutic areas of Oncology, Immuno-Oncology, Neurology & Immunology and Lifecycle Management for marketed products. Prior to joining EMD Serono in 2020, Dr. Venkatakrishnan held roles in Clinical Pharmacology at Pfizer Inc and Takeda Pharmaceuticals Int'l Co, most recently as Head of Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology at Takeda, Cambridge, MA. His areas of professional and research interest include Oncology R&D, Model-informed Global Drug Development and topics in translational science at the interface of drug metabolism and clinical pharmacology. Dr. Venkatakrishnan received his PhD in Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics at Tufts Univ, Boston. He is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology and a member of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics (ASCPT), having served as Chair (2013-2014) of the ASCPT Scientific Program Committee and Chair (2017-2018) of the ASCPT Quantitative Pharmacology Network. He is an author of over 175 scientific publications and over 50 abstracts, and recipient of the ASCPT Clinical & Translational Science Award in 2018 and the ASCPT Malle Jurima-Romet Mid-Career Leadership Award in 2021. He is an Associate Editor of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and a member of the Editorial Boards of Clinical and Translational ScienceThe Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology in Drug Development
