Student Abstract Awards
Students & Trainees from around the world are eligible for awards associated with submitting an abstract for the ACCP Annual Meeting. In order to be eligible for Student Abstract Awards, the recipient must be the primary author of the abstract and is required to attend the ACCP Annual Meeting to present the poster. Following notification of receipt of an award, Students & Trainees must register and attend the Annual Meeting in order to receive the award and/or honorarium.
ACCP accepts encore poster presentations; however, encores must be documented as such when the abstract is submitted and will not be eligible for Student or New Member Abstract Awards.
Student & Trainee Awards
The eight Student & Trainee Award winners are presented with a trophy and $1,000 honorarium, a complimentary registration to attend the Annual Meeting and an invitation to attend the Honors & Awards/Regents Dinner. Student Awards are presented during the Regents & Awards Dinner held prior to the Annual Meeting and also acknowledged during the Annual Meeting. Previous Student Award Winners
Student Abstract Travel Awards
ACCP is pleased to announce that it will award up to $500 of travel support for each of the top 16 Student Abstracts submitted for the Annual Meeting, as judged by the Abstract Reviewers. These travel awards are contingent upon the Student presenting the abstract and do not apply if someone other than the Student presents the abstract.
New Member Abstract Award
The New Member Abstract Award is given for the best poster presented by a New Member at the Annual Meeting. Posters submitted by New Members will be scored by a team of judges during the Poster Sessions at the Annual Meeting. The winner of the New Member Abstract Award receives a trophy and an honorarium of $500. At the time the award is presented, the author presents a short talk outlining the findings of the study. The Wayne A. Colburn Memorial Award
The Wayne A. Colburn Memorial Award is given to the best poster presented by one of the eight Student &Trainee Abstract Award winners as scored by a team of judges during the Poster Session at the Annual Meeting. The winner of the Wayne A. Colburn Memorial Award receives a trophy and an honorarium of $500. ACCP/ISoP SIG Student Abstract Award
ACCP is sponsoring the ACCP/ISoP Special Interest Group (SIG) Student Abstract Award. The SIG identifies areas of submission that are consistent with its focus and Student & Trainee abstracts within those areas are reviewed and scored by SIG Leadership. The top scoring Student abstract is the recipient of the ACCP/ISoP Student Abstract Award, which includes complimentary 3-Day registration to the ACCP Annual Meeting, a $500 honorarium, an award and an invitation to the Regents & Awards Dinner. At the time the award is presented, the author presents a short talk outlining the findings of the study. ACCP/ISoP SIG Student Abstract Award Winner.
The Elliot S. Vesell Award
In 2019, in celebration of ACCP’s 50th Anniversary and in memory of Dr. Elliot S. Vesell, long-time Fellow, former President & Honorary Regent of ACCP, an award will be given to the top Student Abstract in the area of pharmacogenomics. The award will include a trophy, a $500 honorarium and an invitation to the ACCP 50th Anniversary Gala. No application is required, all Student Abstracts in the area of pharmacogenomics will be considered.
